Continuing on with our third video my buddy Cole and I pull into Samana. Samana is a popular tourist destination featuring a beautiful harbor and some of the best seasonal whale watching the country has to offer. I make it a point to be sure to mention how this area uses scrolling on many of their concrete exteriors. They do an incredible job on simulating siding on the building exteriors. In fact since Cole’s going to be building a home he had a particular interest in taking a closer look at this marvelous talent. Once closer he was amazed at the quality of the craftsmanship. Samana is a great day trip destination for all of us living in Cabrera. Only a couple of hours away Samana offers several interesting day tours and while there be sure to visit some of the surrounding beaches, caves and back roads. If you’re there during the time of year that the whales frequent the area you’d be silly not to take advantage of seeing nature in its own environment.
