The DR has long been a favorite place for Hollywood’s movie industry. Along with places like British Columbia Canada, the DR ranks as one of the top countries for setting up stage and filming the scenes. My wife’s brother has been involved in the Canadian movie industry for over 30 years now and has worked on such popular shows as X-Files, Arrow and a long list of others. He explained to me why both locations are so popular. Seems it has a lot to do with price and diversity. For example in BC Canada and especially when the US Dollar is so strong it makes sense to film in other locations. In the DR simulating tropical scenes the likes of the South Pacific is rather easy. That’s why large sections of the film Rambo were done here. While on a recent excursion along a secluded section of beach we were stopped from proceeding only because Vin Diesel happened to be filming some action scenes from his latest movie. It’s not the first time this has happened. Enjoy the link provided and see if you were aware that these box office super hits were largely filmed in the DR. For now here is the link to ET Canada short video clip https://etcanada.com/embed/rd/1328160836002/?jwsource=cl. I’m off to pick up our visitors. Until next time, Barry in DR.
